Global leader in connectivity, TE Connectivity, has acquired American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST). The company has expanded its Sensor Solutions portfolio with completion of this acquisition.
AST manufactures position and pressure sensing solutions. It includes its proprietary technologies in its products, which are designed for application in rough and dangerous environments, such as in plants or facilities handling hazardous and poisonous materials, in places subject to low and high temperatures and in high corrosion prone settings.
AST products are suitable for high performance applications. The company's products are applicable in a wide range of industries, such as industrial controls, defense, aerospace, power and energy generation, commercial and industrial transportation, offshore oil and gas and marine industries.
President David Coughlan leads the TE Sensor Solutions business unit which is under the Transportation Solutions division of the company. AST is to be merged with the TE Sensor Solutions business unit.
