Braun Introduces Non-Invasive Forehead Thermometer

Braun has launched a one-of-a-kind thermometer that offers two non-invasive ways to take a temperature reading: the Braun No touch + forehead thermometer. One method is completely touch-free and takes a measurement of the forehead, and the other needs only a gentle touch in the same location.

By eliminating the need for skin contact, the Braun No touch option is a more hygienic alternative when taking multiple readings on kids and adults. The new no touch thermometer joins the trusted Braun family of thermometers led by the Braun ThermoScan ear thermometer, which is used by more pediatricians and moms than any other brand.

The Braun No touch + forehead thermometer includes a series of features designed to make temperature taking and fever detection easier and more intuitive. The thermometer has a temperature guidance feature that helps caregivers better understand the meaning of a temperature. Depending on the reading, the color of the thermometer's display will change to green, yellow or red, helping the user easily decipher and monitor the status of a temperature.

The Braun No touch + forehead thermometer offers clinically proven accuracy for both methods of temperature measurement. The thermometer measures infrared energy radiated from the skin at the center of the forehead area. The thermometer's sensor captures twice as much thermal energy as the traditional forehead thermometer, producing a more accurate gauge of body temperature. The thermometer then automatically converts the final reading to the oral temperature equivalent, which is important when communicating with doctors and other medical professionals.
