Cincinnati Test Systems Announces Addition of EtherNet/IP to Leak and Flow Test Instruments

EtherNet/IP™ is now a standard selectable communication option for CTS Sentinel I28, C28, and Blackbelt instruments that will reduce integration costs using standardized CIP™ programing. For CTS, EtherNet/IP provides the capability to control, configure, send, and receive messages between CTS Sentinel test instruments and Allen-Bradley PLC’s. EtherNet/IP is a Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) utilizing an open communication interface that saves time and cost by increasing flexibility, decreasing custom programming, and special wiring.

New System to Monitor Behavior of Customers in Stores

This new system can determine, for example, if the customer pays attention to special offers, which route they take in the store and which products they stop and look at. "In our first test we realized that clients in a supermarket didn't walk down a certain aisle because the pet food was located too close to the mild. When we changed the pet food for muffins, people went down that aisle again and, the cross-sales of breakfast foods skyrocketed," explains Jorge Bueno, CEO of Proximus.

Kistler Instruments’ Miniature, Through Hole Triaxial Accelerometer for Dynamic Vibration Measurements

The new sensor from Kistler Instruments (http://tinyurl.com/KIL-5451-8764B) is a miniature, through hole triaxial accelerometer available with measurement ranges of ±50g and ±100g designed for dynamic vibration measurements, especially where space is limited. Full scale signal output is ±5V for both ranges. Applications include automotive NVH and durability, space and aerospace vehicle testing and subsystem vibration testing.

IBS Team Devises Dual Sensor for In-Vivo Measurements of CO and NO Gases

Inside our brains nerve cells signal each other using neurotransmitters including carbon monoxide (CO) and nitric oxide (NO) gases. Besides sharing a number of biological and chemical characteristics, CO and NO work together in regulating many physiological processes including vasodilatation, and immune reaction. Accurate and quantitative measurements of their physiological levels have been seen to result in meaningful findings and the focus of many previous studies. However their similarities have prevented such effort from cracking the entangled bond between CO and NO.
