Pulse Electronics Introduces Compact, Embedded, GPS & WiFi Ceramic Multi-Band Chip Antennas

Pulse Electronics Corporation announces its embedded ceramic multi-band chip antennas that combine GPS and WiFi for high efficiency in a compact package. Their small size, low cost, high efficiencies, and multi-band capabilities fulfill the demands of many consumer and industrial electronic devices. These can be a seamless antenna solution for many Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the medical, transportation, point-of-sale, vending, utility, security, and tracking industries, as well as for Smart homes/cities.

Pulse Electronics’ W3095 is a 2-in-1 GPS/Glonass and dual-band WiFi/BT/BLE (2.4 and 4.9–5.9 GHz) antenna which provides a significant reduction of antenna space when implementing both GPS and WiFi antennas on the same board. It has over 60% efficiency in the GPS/GLONASS bands, over 80% efficiency in the 2.4GHz bands, and over 50% efficiency in the 5GHz bands. It has a high isolation of at least 19 dB between bands.

The W3056 is a compact, single-feed, dual-band, GPS and BT/BLE/WiFi ceramic antenna. It has over 65% efficiency in the GPS band and over 70% efficiency in the 2.4GHz band. This dual-band antenna has a very small form factor of 10 x 3.2 x 1mm (L x W x H) with a ground clearance area of 10.80 x 6.25mm for an easy fit on surface mount applications. The W3056 has up to 2.5dBi gain.

“These new embedded multi-band ceramic chip antennas are unique in the industry. They are a perfect antenna solution to solve your wireless needs when space is a challenge and high efficiency is needed,” said Dr. Seung Hoon Baek, Senior FAE, Wireless Infrastructure Pulse Electronics. “Plus, having a 2-in-1 combo antenna is a 50% savings in antenna cost compared to using separate GPS and WiFi antenna systems.”

Pulse Electronics’ new W3095 and W3056 antennas are RoHS compliant and halogen-free. They both come in 1000 piece tape and reel and are available now.
