Newport Launches Confocal Sensors for Measuring MRSI Dispense Systems’ Height

Newport Corporation has released a new confocal height sensing device for monitoring height of the company’s MRSI dispense products. The light reflective confocal sensing unit is capable of making calibrations in one axis, furnishing its availability of operation into the penetrating cavities, compact areas and spaces in proximity to the walls and other hindrances.

This calibrating device can be widely deployed in the microwave and radio-frequency packages that have been tedious to monitor by the conventional reflective height sensing tools.

The LED light origin with a 50 µm diameter sensing spot furnishes nano-resolution which is not dependent on the target. The confocal sensing unit provides precise calibration of semiconductor elements, glass and mirrored surfaces. This specific device accurately monitors the height of the company’s dispense products such as the MRSI-605, the MRSI M-5 and the MRSI-175Ag.

The MRSI dispense systems furnish improved assembly devices for eutectic, whole epoxy die attach, flip-chip packaging and bonding, multichip modules, delivering turnkey fabrication for microelectromechanical systems, semiconductor packaging, photonics packaging and microwave modules.
