WebTech Wireless, provider of telematics technology and vehicle fleet location- based services, announced that it has won a contract extension from the City of Vaughan. The $671 thousand, five-year contract was awarded for the company’s InterFleet technology. Under the contract, the company will offer Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) or Global Positioning System services throughout the contract period.
The company received the initial contract from the city in 2006 to deliver and monitor AVL systems for more than 253 city vehicles. WebTech Wireless has planned to end this contract in December 2010. The new contract will be focused on offering ongoing services for the monitoring and maintenance of the installed AVL systems.
Services under the extended contract will also cover storing historical data, broadcasting of the public website ‘Where is My Snow Plow,’ and updating the maintenance website of Vaughan.
