Vishay Intertechnology announced that it has received the EDN China Innovation Best Product Award for the year 2010. The company has got the recognition for its 597D series of commercial- and industrial-grade, and Tantamount Hi-Rel COTS T97 solid tantalum chip capacitors. The company has won the award under the passive components and sensor category.
The chip capacitors have been recently upgraded with 75 V rating and 10 µF capacitance in the ‘R’ case size. These capacitors offer high reliability in circuits when the applied voltage is in the range of 25 – 40 V. This was earlier achieved only with the through-hole technology.
The T97 and 597D series of tantalum capacitors feature a voltage range of 4 – 75 V, and capacitance between 10 and 1500 µF, in nine case sizes. Such sizes include the ‘V’ case featuring a 2 mm profile. The capacitors provide high ripple currents to about 4.1 A. The 597D models are designed for control systems and industrial automation.
The T97 models provide high reliability screening choices such as Weibull grading. They also offer surge current testing options as per MIL-PRF-55365. The T97 capacitors are made for safety applications in aerospace and military industries, such as radar systems, space-based electronics, avionics, and power distribution in weapons.
