Icon-Based Software Collects and Analyses Data from Sensors

LEGO has introduced an icon-based software called Mindstorms education NXT for data logging and programming applications. It features 46 tutorials that range from the beginner to advanced levels.

The software is easy to use and is equipped with a number of data logging functions that streamline the process of collecting and evaluating the information from sensors. The software, which is based on LabVIEW, has a detailed digital user manual that contains DAQ and programming chapters.

With the help of the Mindstorms education NXT software, users can utilize output and output devices to generate a range of instructions on cause and effect. A scientific inquiry process in the software enables users to collect and evaluate the data sets. Users can also combine Science and Math through linear and mean formulae, coordinate systems, measurement units and physical constants.  They can also design and test a system to check and manage the events and use prediction tools on hypothesis development. The software can be used on any computer system and is suitable for children aged between7 to 16 years.
