Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has declared that it has collaborated with China Telecom for carrying out test rounds of iEN (intelligent energy networks) in various cities of China and will be associating with China Unicom for providing home security remote observing service in the Chinese market.
CHT remarked that iEN includes various energy-saving systems and employs sensing devices to gather air-conditioned data, encompassing humidity, temperature, carbon dioxide concentration and then communicates the information by means of networks, comprising the VPNs and Internet, to an energy management area, which regulates power consumption at the sites. China Telecom will be adding value-added network-enabled service for the Chinese market.
This remote sensing home security provision employs an intelligent telephone having a seven-inch screen for detecting the home conditions and the data can be transferred through text message and e-mail to a maximum of five wireless-linked handsets. Apart from this functionality, the smart telephone provides video phone data transmission and delivers data, music services and display digital photos.
