Peak Power Sensor Saves Installation and Maintenance Costs

Giga-tronics has launched its GT-8555A 100MHz to 20GHz USB Peak Power Sensor, for calibrated peak and average power measurements. The user-friendly device displays high dynamic range and its measurement speed is good. It also has a computer- based interface.

The device features a RF and microwave power measurement. It is suitable for testing applications in remote communications and electronics systems used in the defense sector. It is time and power efficient, and features time gating and pulse parameter measurements. Its accuracy makes it ideal for use in research and development laboratories, manufacturing segment for testing and field installations and maintenance. It offers 2000 readings/s, dynamic range of -40 to +20dBm and low VSWR of 1.2:1. The device incorporates the company’s MeasurementXpress (MX) software. It has a trigger input, while its trigger parameters can be controlled via its software.

According to Malcolm Levy, vice president of sales and marketing, the device is compact and easy to transport, while its time and power efficiency helps save installation and maintenance costs.
