Soligie Engaged in Developing Printed Pressure and Temperature Sensors

Soligie has received a number of contracts towards the development of printed sensors. Many customers are now in the process of assessing the prototypes of these sensors. They are hoping to mass produce these prototypes in 2011 and 2012.

Products that are based on sensors benefit through Printed Electronics as it offers thin and adaptable formats of the sensors that can be designed over a large area. Soligie develops printed strain-gauges, biomedical sensors and electrodes in addition to pressure and temperature sensors. Matt Timm, President of Soligie, was confident that through Printed Electronics, the sensor market was bound grow significantly due to the new form factors that are created. Soligie is all set to provide innovative solutions to its customers having the option of fusing other printed components along with the printed sensors customized to the user’s requirements. The Printed Electronics industry is yet to achieve integrating multiple printed components on a single base. Timm was highly confident of Soligie’s progress in the field of Printed Electronics and new tie ups with new companies by developing and extending their portfolio of products that make use of printed sensors.

Soligie’s sensors are cost- effective and are rolled out in large volumes. Soligie is continuously ramping up its equipment in order to meet the demand that arises from an increasing number of contracts with companies. Timm regards receiving number of contracts to be an indication of the confidence that customers have on Soligie’s quality products.
