Aichi Steel has introduced the AMI603 6-axis motion sensor that has the ability to detect motion, tilt, and direction. It has been developed specifically for portable tablets and handset industry.
The AMI603 comprises an IC controller, a 3-axis accelerometer, and a 3-axis magnetic sensor, all integrated on a single chip. The compact 6-axis motion sensor is an improved version of the AMI602 sensor.
The AMI603 has a pedometer that consumes less power. The sensor’s high density package fulfills the stipulations for electronic parts used in portable handsets. One of the main features of the AMI603 includes rapid measurement for static control of CB, high azimuth precision of less than 3° for dynamic control of CG and low power consumption.
An ultra-small electronic compass was created by Aichi in July 2010 and was later produced on a large-scale in February 2011. The AMI603 is capable of supporting various functionalities such as air-mouse, games, navigation and other functions in mobile handsets. Users can measure rotation speed using the AMI603’s fast sampling time of 0.6 ms.
