OceanServer Launches New Line of Digital Compasses for GPS

A new line of portable and highly accurate 3-axis positioning sensors has been developed by OceanServer Technology. The sensors can be used for a wide range of OEM applications such as night vision systems, antennas, robotics, sonar, satellites, weather instrumentation and solar panels.

These electronic compasses are available in a 1” sq. full board version and a 0.6” sq. embedded that are capable of auto-detecting RS232 or USB connections and a TTL interface. They are appropriate for integration with GPS for providing heading data. They also provide 0.1 resolution, 0.5 degrees nominal accuracy, ±90 degree tilt, ±180 degree roll and electronically gimbaled tilt compensation.

OceanServer electronic compasses include 3-Axis magnetic sensors, 3-Axis accelerometers, a 50 MIPS processor, which supports IEEE floating point math, a hard and soft iron calibration, Windows compatible software for testing and evaluation, a 24 bit A/D converter and programmable baud rates ranging from 4,800 to 115,000 baud. These devices are priced according to the quantity, configuration and reference software.

OceanServer Technology provides unique product solutions for OEM and embedded applications. Founded in 2003, its products have been integrated into a variety of applications in the marine, military, scientific and telecommunication industries.
