Flexpoint Delivers Sensors for Virtual Reality Gaming Platforms

By Andy Choi

Flexpoint Sensor Systems has declared that it is now developing sensors, which would be used by a prominent toy manufacturer for producing a virtual reality gaming platform.

Bend Sensor Fingers

The project is still in the early stage but the versatility of the company’s advanced Bend Sensor technology has once again been proved.

According to Clark Mower, Flexpoint’s President, the company had been thinking about the Bend Sensor’s suitability for this kind of application for a long time and is now looking forward to develop the product on this line.

Mower added that as more and more virtual reality and action games are beginning to use platforms to capture the participants’ movements, the bend sensor technology could prove to be highly adaptable for these applications. With the gaming industry being huge, it is anticipated that over 190 million homes would have the new generation of video consoles by 2012.

Mower further stated that even if a small portion of this market is captured by the company, it would lead to a significant and continuous revenue for the company in the coming years.
