An independent test lab has found Cirque’s GlideTouch input solutions to comply with the newest security standards, PCI PTS 3.0 standards for PIN Entry Devices (PED). GlideTouch offers capacitive touch input for payment terminal keypads and touch screens, capable of supporting both fine-tipped and finger input stylus.
PED manufacturers could safely include and use a touch screen in the PED design due to Glide Touch’s patent-protected and unique SecureSense. If somebody tries to link viruses to the GlideTouch electrodes or sensor, they would not be able to retrieve any useful data. Moreover, the tamper attempts would be sensed and signal sent to the host device. Even if anything is overlaid on the GlideTouch sensor, it would also make the system inactive.
GlideTouch solutions also offer several more benefits for payment and security applications. Vandal-resistant and optically clear glass with a thickness of 6mm has been used to fabricate these sensors. As the projected capacitive sensor lies under the glass layer, it is completely unaffected by cleaning chemicals and scratches. Its fine-tipped stylus delivers superior sample rate for capture of forensic quality signatures. The sensor can differentiate accurately between the stylus and the finger. Cirque gets the credit of being the original developer of capacitive sensor technology and now offers innovative solutions for consumer electronics, medical, industrial and notebook computers.
