Measurement Specialties Releases M7100 Industrial Pressure Transducer

Measurement Specialties has announced the release of the M7100 pressure transducer. The M7100 has been developed for high volume vehicle, engine and industrial markets and measures gas and liquid pressure in steam, contaminated water and corrosive fluids.

The rugged industrial pressure transducer offers a maximum pressure of 43,000psi and is operational in a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The applications of the M7100 transducer include hydraulics, compressors, energy & water management, HVAC refrigeration controls and off-road vehicle engine control. The pressure cavity of the new transducer is designed from a 17-4 PH stainless steel that ensures that the organics and o-rings are not exposed to pressure. It is available with a Sumitomo or Packard connector and can be installed easily with several pressure port threads.

The M7100 provides both overvoltage protection and surge protection for reverse and positive polarity. It is capable of withstanding a maximum of 20 g vibration, 50 g shock and offers a high accuracy of 0.25%.

Microfused is the pressure sensing technology behind the M7100 transducer that provides excellent hydraulic shock protection. Upgraded electronics provide improved signal integrity in noisy applications such as industrial controls and heavy digging equipment. Shock and vibration is improved by elimination of internal connections and reducing the total packaging size.

Measurement Specialties manufactures sensors and sensor-based systems for measurement of humidity, pressure, vibration, force, torque, temperature, position, photo optics, mass air flow and fluid properties by using technologies including electro-optic, piezo-resistive, digital encoders, electro-magnetic, magneto resistive, variable reluctance, thermistors, RTDs, thermocouples, resonant beam, MEMS, strain gauges and resonant beams.
