Black + Decker Integrates InvenSense Gyro in Motion-Activated Screwdriver

InvenSense, a well-established company that delivers MotionTracking devices, declared the deployment of its MEMS Gyroscope product in the globally-unique motion-activated screwdriver capable of controlling variable speed and direction, as reported by Black & Decker.

Black & Decker chose InvenSense for its GYRO 4V MAX Lithium-ion Rechargeable Screwdriver. This is the first product ever to employ gyroscope technology to function as a motion-enabled interface for automated control. This unique product requires users to turn their wrist one quarter turn to the right for forward direction or rotate to the left for reverse direction.

According to the VP of Marketing at InvenSense, Ali Foughi, the company is honored to be recognized by a well-established power tools company such as Black & Decker. InvenSense’s gyroscope has been opted for incorporation within Black & Decker’s innovative power tool. InvenSense is a renowned firm providing MEMS gyroscopes for consumer applications. The anticipation that the company’s technology will be expanded into new markets is reflected by the integration of InvenSense’s gyroscope within the world’s first motion enabled power tool.

InvenSense ISZ-650 was recognized by Black & Decker. This Z-axis integrated MEMS gyroscope will deliver high shock resistance, performance, sturdy features and overall value. InvenSense technology is ideal for integration within consumer electronic markets such as gaming devices, optical image stabilization, smartphones, tablets, and in remote controls for Smart TVs.
