Ekahau RTLS Used by Indian Hospital to Track Patients

Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, will deploy the Ekahau RTLS solution on its Cisco network installed across its 30,000-square-foot facility to track patients who get tests done and serve them better,. It will enable the hospital to achieve accuracy pinpointing patient’s location right down to the level of the sub room.

Ekahau T301B badge tags will be offered by Apollo to all patients through Ekahau RTLS solution for tracking patients’ movements, present location, and time spent at the current location. This will help administrators identify situations with excessive wait times in real time.

The Ekahau tags utilization process has been automated by ICEGEIN to enable healthcare providers to press a button as soon as a test commences and after the test is completed.

Online reports can be generated through this process indicating how many patients have completed the required tests at a given time as well as tracking whether all patients have completed the requested tests. The hospital staff will be alerted by these tags when a patient departs from a facility before completion of procedures.

This hospital in Chennai provides annual comprehensive health checks daily for 200 patients that require the patients to visit various departments like lab, cardiology, and imaging. Since these patients move frequently between various places, it is difficult to monitor and find out the busy departments, and also find where patients have to wait or if patients land up at the right department at the correct time.
