Intelligent Highway Solutions Commences Prototype Phase Development of Battery-Less/Wireless Sensor

Intelligent Highway Solutions, Inc. (the "Company"), announced that it has started the prototype phase of the development of the battery-less/wireless sensor. Recently the Company announced it received its patent pending approval for a battery-less wireless sensor that can be embedded in the road and used to measure traffic flow rate, speed and approximate vehicle weight.

Compared to existing inductive loop based traffic sensors, the new sensor is expected to provide increased reliability, easy installation and low maintenance costs. The sensor uses power only for wireless transmission and has zero idle power loss. The sensor is expected to be extremely energy efficient. Energy to power this sensor is harvested entirely from the short duration vibrations that results when an automobile passes over the sensor.

Devon Jones CEO of Intelligent Highway Solutions stated: "We expect to have the prototype completed within the next 90 days and will be beta testing the system later this year." Jones continued: "The new sensor on the roadway requires no external power supply compared to inductive loop detectors which are continuously powered, even during the night when traffic flow might be relatively low."
