The OpenTablet 7, based on the Intel Atom processor-enabled platform, features dual cameras and HDMI output and dual cameras to capture still and high-definition video images. It incorporates a 7-inch multi-touch, high-resolution TFT LCD screen that has LED backlighting, cellular connectivity, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, along with microphones and in-built speakers.
Besides its innovative gadgets, OpenPeak also has a framework of complementary software that helps developers and designers to develop interactive applications. Integrated device management services permit providers to provision, update and monitor customer gadgets remotely through broadband networks for ensuring the delivery of the latest up-to-date software and services. The company has a white label, partitioned shop that offers content availability controls and revenue sharing models and empowers service providers to provide the most demanding multimedia applications to a range of devices directly.
OpenPeak has recently received an additional $52 million funding from Intel Capital, who is the global investment organization of Intel and existing investors. The funding package is complete through the GE Capital's Commercial Distribution Finance unit’s working capital and distribution finance line and debt financing from Velocity Financial Group and Horizon Technology Finance. Such a working capital, equity and debt financing will help OpenPeak in the expansion of its successful services, hardware, and software platform for capitalizing on new avenues in enterprise and consumer markets.
