Measurement Specialties Launches Reliable and High-resolution Load Cells

Measurement Specialties, an expert in sensor design and manufacturing, has enhanced its series of ELAF compression and tension load cells to provide superior resolution and higher reliability, while remaining extremely cost-effective.

The "four-bar" design of the sensors offers better stability and resistance to off-axis components than single diaphragm designs by incorporating a flexible diaphragm that parallels the measuring flexure.

Higher Performance Load Cells from Measurement Specialties Offer Improved Reliability.

These temperature compensated sensors are ideal for high volume test and measurement applications that require a low cost, compact load cell. These include batch weighing, product validation testing, assembly force and thrust measurement applications. IP65 is offered on selected housing types.

Using Measurement Specialties' proprietary Microfused technology that eliminates age-sensitive organic epoxies, the ELAF series provides exceptional long term span and zero stability. Micro-machined piezoresistive strain gauges are fused with high temperature glass onto a high performance stainless steel measuring flexure.

The load cells operate at very low strains using strain gauges with gauge factors greater than 100 as well as virtually limitless cycle life expectancy and exceedingly high over-range capabilities without the need for stops. Shielded FEP/PTFE cabling with strain relief is provided with each sensor.

Several parameters, including compensated temperature range, input voltage and lead lengths, are customizable within the standard load cell packaging to suit specific application requirements.

Technical Specifications
