US Navy Places Order with Mercury Systems for DRFM Jammers

Mercury Systems, Inc., a best-of-breed provider of commercially developed, open sensor and Big Data processing systems for critical commercial, defense and intelligence applications, announced that its Mercury Defense Systems subsidiary has received a $1.7 million order from the U.S. Navy for advanced Digital RF Memory (DRFM) jammers to support both U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force requirements.

The order is part of the firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) time and material contract award worth up to $56.7 million. The IDIQ was originally received by KOR Electronics (now Mercury Defense Systems) in March 2010 and increased in 2013.

"This order is further validation of Mercury's vital role in working with the U.S. Navy to support sophisticated radar jamming technology," said Kevin Carnino, President, Mercury Defense Systems. "We take our role in safeguarding the Navy and Air Force airborne warfighter seriously, especially in today's environment where threats can come from a wide variety of sources. Our DRFM solutions have been used for over two decades for training and radar environment simulation, vulnerability assessment, and self-protection."
