L-3 Nova Engineering to Upgrade the TRSS Scheme

L-3 Communications, a major contractor of C3ISR systems, government services and aircraft maintenance and modernization, declared that its Nova Engineering division has been awarded a five year contract worth $52.8 million by the Department of Defense (DoD) in order to promote the Tactical Remote Sensor Systems (TRSS) project of the United States Marine Corps. Based on this agreement Nova will furnish equipment repairs and updates in addition to the program management support for assisting the TRSS proposal.

Mark Fischer, president, L-3 Nova Engineering remarked that their field-tested device traces, processes and transfers the images, which enhances situational security systems in the Warfield. He added that the award exposes their bond with the clients and their efficiency in upgrading and advancing novel products for the welfare of progressive markets.

The TRSS system furnishes precise monitoring of activities within and around a particular target area besides autonomous and constant abandoned sensor surveillance of various far-off zones. The system can also identify the occurrence and direction of motions and categorize the target, detecting it as motion of vehicles or individuals. This inturn permits the army units to be aware of the type of activity happening in the target area and take real-time actions accordingly.

Cincinnati based L-3 Nova Engineering, which is a unit of L-3 Communication Systems group, fabricates, develops and manufactures real-time and digital integrated hardware and software for telemetry and communications applications covering imaging target identification, aerial and ground simulations and fusion-empowered sensor technology.
