Pericom Semiconductor Corporation, a leading supplier of serial high-speed switching, connectivity, signal-integrity and timing solutions, today announced the addition of new signal integrity products to the industry's broadest portfolio of USB Type-C™ connector solutions, including DisplayPort Linear ReDriver and USB3.1 Gen1 (5Gbps) and Gen2 (10Gbps) lowest power ReDrivers/Repeaters.
USB Type-C is more than just the USB interface. The reversible plug/receptacle provides a multi-function single cable solution for USB, power, and audio/video. Pericom Type-C product solutions are being utilized in notebook, tablet, smart phone, docking, monitor, active cable, ultra HD displays, and storage applications. Based on Pericom's market research, the USB Type-C market demand is expected to grow to over two billion units by 2017. Pericom is pleased to add the following USB Type-C solutions.
PI3DPX1203 is a DisplayPort 1.3 compliant, 8Gbps link speed, four differential channels Linear ReDriver with link training transparent mode. It provides programmable input equalization, linear swing and flat gain control to optimize high speed signals across the PCB trace, or cable. The linear mode amplifier allows full compliance to link training signals. PI3DPX1203 is ideal for USB Type-C connector sink and source-side applications with PD controllers.
The PI3EQX1001 single channel and PI3EQX1002 dual channel Linear ReDrivers/Repeaters are low power, high performance solutions designed specifically to extend both USB3.1 Gen1 (5Gbps) and USB3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps) high speed signals across PCB channels and cable applications, with or without Type-C connectors. The new products provide programmable equalization and linear gain, and utilize space saving small TQFN packages.
Pericom's PI1EQX512A is the industry's lowest power USB3.1 Gen1 (5Gbps) ReDriver/Repeater with 1V VDD, using a space efficient 2x2mm package for small, low profile computing platforms, including ultra-book, tablet, two-in-one PC, monitor, docking station, and smart phone. The new IC offers 2 channels (1 USB port), programmable equalization, and Pericom's industry leading fully USB power management compliant features that enable the part to achieve the most power saving modes required by the system.
