Fluorescent Sensor Rapidly Identifies Presence of Fat in Milk

A team of researchers from the National University of Singapore (NUS) has pioneered the world’s first fluorescent sensor – called Milk Orange – that rapidly identifies the presence of fat in milk. When the light purplish sensor is mixed with a milk sample, it transmits fluorescent signals of orange hues instantly under light when fat is detected, with brighter shades when the concentration of fat in the milk sample increases.

AUSA 2014: Raytheon Introduces Enhanced Battlefield Global Positioning System Anti-Jam Capability

Raytheon UK is launching a new enhanced version of its battlefield global positioning system anti-jam (GPS-AJ) capability, Landshield at AUSA 2014. The new system will provide the highest integrity and most advanced anti-jam capability for simultaneous L1 and L2 GPS frequencies. Raytheon developed the new capability to address the U.S. Army's nascent Assured Position Navigation and Timing (APNT) program of record, for which the company will deliver a number of systems for evaluation in early 2015.

Lockheed Martin received a $90.6 million foreign military sale contract from the U.S. Army to provide Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) systems to the Qatar Emiri Air Force. Qatar marks the 14th international customer for the M-TADS/PNVS system.
