Washington Nuclear Plant Ensures Safety of Welding Process with H2scan Hydrogen Sensor

A nuclear power station in Washington, USA, recently purchased a portable hydrogen analyser from H2scan for the detection of hydrogen during a cask storage welding process. The analyser is able to provide immediate indication of any hydrogen leak and as such represents a vital component of the plant’s safety strategy.

NXP Semiconductors Introduces Single-Chip Video Processors for HD IP Security Cameras

In a breakthrough for high-definition (HD) network video surveillance, NXP Semiconductors N.V. today announced its Advanced ASC884xA and ASC885xA series of single-chip video processors for HD IP security cameras. These devices integrate virtually all functions required for an IP camera design – from raw image sensor data input, image signal processing (ISP), and H.264 compression, to secure encrypted transmission over the network through a Gigabit Ethernet interface.

NXP Semiconductors N.V. (together with its subsidiaries, “NXP”) announced today that its subsidiary, NXP B.V., launched a transaction seeking commitments for up to US$500 million in new senior secured loans ( the “New Loans”), the proceeds of which would be used to fund NXP B.V.’s currently ongoing offer to purchase up to US$500 million in cash of the U.S. dollar-denominated 93/4 % Senior Secured Notes due 2018 that NXP B.V. and NXP Funding LLC have outstanding.

PVL Introduces Water-in-Oil Sensor

PVL now has a solution to the problem of monitoring water in oil, in the form of the WIO200 water-in-oil sensor. While conventional approaches require taking a small sample of the oil and then analysing it, the WIO200 provides continuous monitoring of the entire lubricant oil volume, providing early warning of high levels of water content that could damage the machine.
