Northrop Grumman’s new AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) system has been supplied to the Eastern Virginia-based Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island. Based on this novel system, the Wallops Island government will start its phase I and II of Developmental Test (DT). Yuma, Ariz will accommodate the Operational Assessment for G/ATOR and the final phase of DT.
An airborne measurement campaign conducted by the research team from the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in the Helmholtz Association (AWI) along with those at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences has been accomplished successfully.
