Masimo has reported the demonstration of Masimo SET pulse oximetry’s efficiency in a recent study in the Journal of Clinical Anesthesia. According to the study, Masimo Radical with Masimo SET pulse oximetry demonstrated higher oxygen saturation (SpO2) sensitivity and specificity, showing minimal failure rates with respect to motion and low perfusion compared to other new-generation pulse oximeters.
A new area sensor, FPC1011F3, has been introduced by Fingerprint Cards (FPC). This area sensor has a sleek design and provides better protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) when compared to its predecessors.

TURCK has unveiled a new rotary single axis inclinometer. This new offering expands the company’s dual axis CANopen inclinometer for angular tilt detection.
Leica Geosystems declared that its four Leica ADS40 airborne digital sensors have been successfully upgraded by Fugro Horizons to the newer Leica ADS80 model. The upgrades were achieved by Leica at its Connecticut facility. The improved sensors have been deployed by Fugro for the spring flying season.
In association with the Munich-based Institut für Radiochemie – Technische Universität München (IR TUM), the Institute of Electron Technology (ITE), located in Warsaw, Poland formulated and created silicon alpha-particle detectors. These detectors are being used in an international experiment for creating and detecting atomic nuclei of the yet to be discovered element 120.
