Magellan, a GPS portable navigation and solutions provider, has announced the launch of the RoadMate RV9145 navigator designed specifically for recreational vehicles (RVs) users.
The new RoadMate navigator has a large 7 in.a high-resolution display offering customized routing as per the driver’s preference and vehicle profile. The device is pre-loaded with Magellan’s Good Sam Trailer Life RV Parks & Campground Directory, maps of several countries including Puerto Rico, Canada and the United States, and more than 6 million places of interest.
The directory service offered by Good Sam Club provides information on over 11700 campgrounds in Canada and USA. The navigator users can also use the device to find site information that provide Internet and in WiFi zones, pet-friendly places, places that offer Good Sam Club discounts and also accommodate big-rigs.
The Associate Vice President, Product Management at Magellan GPS, Stig Pederson stated that the RoadMate RV9145 GPS navigator has been designed to function as an RV travel companion that offers an enjoyable and safe driver experience. Pederson added that the navigator has been designed to enhance safety of the driver and that has been accounted for by adding features such as Highway Lane Assist and vocal announcement of directions that allows the driver to focus on the road ahead.
The 7 in.transmissive screen of the navigator unit is ideal for the low-lit driver area and also offers routes based on fastest travel time, shortest distance and freeways. Multi-destination capability is also provided as a feature.
