ST’s THELMA MEMS Manufacturing Process Now Available for Prototyping

STMicroelectronics and CMP (Circuits Multi Projets®) today announced that ST’s THELMA MEMS manufacturing process, the process ST uses for its industry-leading accelerometers and gyroscopes, which have shipped in billions of units 1, is now available for prototyping to universities, research labs and design companies through the silicon brokerage services provided by CMP.

Intellitect Water Finds Sand to be the Cause of False DPD Data

Following the installation of in-pipe drinking water quality monitoring sondes, distribution engineers discovered an occasional significant disparity between the Intellisondes’ data and results from grab samples tested by a photometer tablet (DPD) method. For most of the time, there was close agreement between the two methods, but periodically, the photometer results varied wildly, whilst the in-pipe monitor showed relatively stable values.

Eurotech subsidiary Parvus Corporation announces that the DuraCOR 830, a rugged tactical mission processor subsystem based on an ultra-low power Intel Atom CPU with integrated MIL-STD-1553 databus interfaces has successfully completed military standard qualification testing to extreme MIL-STD-810G environmental conditions, MIL-STD-461F electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC), and MIL-STD-1275/704 power requirements.

TI Launches Wide-Input Voltage Synchronous Boost Controllers with High Efficiency and Power Density

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) today introduced three wide-input voltage synchronous boost controllers with high efficiency and high power density. The LM5122Q multi-phase boost controller features the industry's widest input and output voltage range. The low quiescent-current TPS43060 and TPS43061 boost controllers feature 1-MHz operation and a small QFN package.
