Using Turbidity Secondary Standards

Secondary standards give customers a fast, safe way to check that their turbidity meters are operating correctly, without the cost or complexity of using a primary standard. In some cases, they can also be used to recalibrate a turbidity meter.

TurbSense secondary standards are produced with approximate turbidity values, known as nominal values, of 0.9 NTU and 18 NTU. The actual turbidity value of each standard may vary slightly from these nominal values due to small differences in materials and manufacturing. For this reason, every secondary standard is measured at the point of manufacture, with the measured turbidity value clearly marked on the base of the standard and inside the case lid.
