The iTrans2 infrared gas detector available from Teledyne uses a smart electronics platform to offer one or two points of detection from a solo head, providing excellent performance, highest flexibility, and lower installation costs.
The iTrans2 includes the optional HART Communication Protocol and thus allows calibration, set up, or remote diagnostics by superimposing a high-frequency current over the 4–20 mA analog line, which is the industry standard.
Automatic Sensor Recognition, Access Code Security, and Zero and Cal Fault Protection
The iTrans2 is capable of detecting any mixture of gases for a specific environment. It uses the industry-proven “smart” infrared gas sensor technology from Teledyne. The iTrans2 also uses safety features, like access code security, automatic sensor recognition, and zero and cal fault protection—collectively enclosed inside an explosion-proof stainless steel or aluminum housing.
The microprocessor-controlled transmitters can configure multi-point systems and can operate independently. The infrared sensor offers explosive gas detection (such as propane, methane, hexane, ethylene, butane, etc.) in more adverse environmental conditions, in which the presence of poisons can negatively impact the use of a catalytic cell.
Besides the LEL sensor series, the iTrans2 detector can be configured with a 0% to 100% volume methane infrared sensor for both bio-gas applications and CO2 infrared sensors spanning from 0.5% to 100% volume.
The fixed gas detector comes with optional on-board relays and has an additional capacity of stand-alone operation, triggering alarms, fans, or horns. The detector can also shut down a system without having to wire back to a central control panel.
